The grape distillate Malagouzia is produced through the fermentation and distillation of whole grapes from the Malagouzia variety. These grapes, intended for this specific distillate, undergo cold extraction without the presence of oxygen, are not pressed, and fermentation continues in a fully controlled environment with a stable low temperature to preserve their juices and thus the character of the variety.
It features an expressive nose with a strong aromatic bouquet of ripe fruits such as pineapple, banana, apricot, and rich notes of flowers and herbs. On the palate, it is full, clean, and balanced, without sharp edges, exhibiting a fatty, fruity character with a long finish.
The ideal serving temperature is between 12-15 °C (not too cold to avoid losing its aromatic elements).
It pairs well as an aperitif with fruit tarts featuring bitter chocolate and pavlovas with tropical fruit sauce. It also complements a variety of mezze dishes that will be at the center of the table, especially those containing or cooked with fruits!
